Levee Breakdown /
Jefferson City Hornpipe

(traditional)

Cathy - hammered dulcimer; Dave - guitar; Jim Lansford - fiddle; Kim Lansford - piano

Also from Christeson's Vol. 1, Breakdowns No. 159 and No. 158, these tunes were from Bill Caton, a black fiddler in the Jefferson City area in the 1920s and 30s. We learned them from Ed and Theresa Gebauer, of Kansas City. We named the first one ourselves after we learned it in the great flood year of 1993. The second is known by a number of players in the state.
